Jatarrius Bright

Director of Woodwinds and Leadership

Mr. Bright currently serves as the Woodwind and Leadership Director for the South Cobb High School Band Program. Mr. Bright joined the South Cobb High School Band staff in the summer of 2017. Originally from Tallahassee, FL Mr. Bright moved to Cobb County where he graduated from South Cobb High school. While attending South Cobb High School Mr. Bright participated in the band program during all 4 years, serving as Head Drum Major during his senior year. Mr. Bright’s principal instrument is percussion and secondary is oboe. Mr. Bright received his undergraduate degrees in Nursing and Biology from Georgia State University in December 2022. He is currently pursuing his Business Degree with an emphasis in Healthcare Leadership. In his free time Mr. Bright can be found trying new local restaurants, practicing his instruments, and spending time with his family.

 

Daney Glover

Director of Brass and Visuals

Mr. Glover currently serves as the Brass and Visual Director for the South Cobb High School Band program. Mr Glover joined the Band Staff in the Summer of 2019. A product of the Cobb County School system, Mr. Glover graduated from Wheeler High School in Marietta, GA. During his time at Wheeler, he was a part of the band program as an Euphonium player for all 4 years and Drum Major. Mr. Glover continued his education at Louisiana State University where he was apart of The Golden Band From Tigerland. After graduating from LSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Mr. Glover returned to the Cobb County area to serve as the Assistant Director of Bands at Cooper Middle School and later as the Director of Bands at Cooper Middle School. Mr. Glover is member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Jataya Combs

Ms. Combs currently serves as the Administrative Assistant for the South Cobb High School Band, joining in the Fall of 2019. A native of Jasper, AL Ms. Combs moved to Cobb County where she would graduate from South Cobb High School. While attending South Cobb High school Ms. Combs participated in the Blue Eagle Marching Band, serving as Woodwind Captain during her senior year. Ms. Combs went on to receive her undergraduate degree in Biology from Georgia State University. She currently serves as a Recruitment Coordinator for a national staffing agency in Atlanta, GA. In her free time Ms. Combs can be found sewing, getting her nails done, and spending time with her daughter.
